Free HTML

Free HTML allows adding HTML code (with JavaScripts, Flash, etc.) to the portal pages, giving the portal designer total freedom and control.

From this option, you can maintain the data of existing HTML code and add new one.

Figure 4.7.4

By selecting the Language on this screen, you will refresh the HTML code at the bottom, based on the selected language.

If you press “HTML Editor ” a window will be displayed with the HTML Editor provided by GXportal.

By pressing the “Text Editor” button you display a window with the Text Editor provided by GXportal.

The “HTML Editor” is easier to use for non-advanced users, since they can work with an easy and intuitive interface. We do not recommend using this editor to enter Java Script code, since its behavior can be unexpected. On the other hand, the “Text Editor” has been specially designed for advanced users since programming code is written and it allows entering Java Script code without trouble.

Once you have edited the code and closed the editor’s window with the  button, to save the changes, you must press the Confirm button. Next, the HTML with the corresponding changes will be displayed. This applies to both editors.

Assign

This action allows you to assign a piece of HTML code to a page with a predefined code location. The page must already have HTML GXportlets to enable the assignment.
