Region

Scope: All pages.

Description: Regions define the layout of the page design. There exist 15 regions that act as header, columns and footer of the page that can be enabled and disabled at any stage of the site design. The image below shows the dialog box that allows enabling and disabling regions in a page. To access this dialog box, an option is provided in the page toolbar.

Region Properties

Below is a list of all the properties that can be used to change the design of each region.
  •  Name
    •  It allows setting the name that will be used to identify the region; for example, this is used in the screen shown before and in the Scheme option of the designer.
  •  Status
  •  Publication Start Date
  •  Publication End Date
  •  Enable customization?
    •  It indicates whether the region's content will be customizable by the site's user. Read How do I enable users to customize pages?
  •  Inherit GXportlets from the channel template?
    •  It indicates whether to load the GXportlets of this same region that have been defined in the template on which the current page is based.
  •  Inherit properties from the channel template?
    •  It indicates whether to inherit the same values for the region properties that were configured in the template on which the current page is based.
  •  Distribute GXportlets evenly
    •  If the value is Yes, it will cause the sectors located in the same line to be horizontally distributed so as to fit the entire width of the region. In this case, each sector's width is configured in such a way that they all take a similar percentage when horizontally distributed.
    •  If it is set to No, each sector will take the minimum width configured for them, and they will be displayed next to each other with no spaces between them.
  •  Alignment
  •  Vertical Alignment
  •  Background color
    •  It indicates the background color to be applied to the entire region.
  •  Background image
    •  It indicates the background image to be displayed in the entire region.
  •  Background position
    •  It allows setting the position in which the background image will be displayed. For example, to show it in the center, it should be set with the Center value; to show it in the upper section, the Left Top value has to be selected. See the possible values of this property here.
  •  Repeat Background Image
  •  Width
  •  Height
  •  Upper Margin
  •  Lower Margin
  •  Left Margin
  •  Right Margin
